Harry Potter- Diagon Alley Shop Windows

As promised, here are some of the shop windows in the Harry Potter Exhibition - from Diagon Alley.

I wish I could have gone into some of these shops

Gringott's bank

The whole place looks so old and dusty

Does anyone want an owl or a toad?

I am a real sucker for luggage

Flourish and Blotts

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes was definitely the brightest shop there and couldn't be missed.

It's a pity I can't upload a video of the model bloke in the doorway, endlessly puking into a bucket to entice punters to buy the Puking Pastilles.

Actually, when you get to the real shop, it feels a lot like this and like you're still in the exhibition at the same time.

Harry Potter - Outdoor Sets

Here are some of the props and scenes from the outdoor lot at the Harry Potter Exhibition

The Knight Bus

Letters arriving at Privet Drive

The Bridge/Cloister thing at Hogwarts

The house in Godrick's Hollow where Harry lived with his parents

And the Flying Car Harry and Ron stole to get to Hogwarts in book 2.

You can go in all of these (although only to stand on the back footplate of the Knight bus) and also sit on Sirius' motorbike.

Harry Potter - Potions Room

The Potions Room at The Harry Potter Exhibition was SO beautiful that I wanted to cross the barrier and go in, walk about in the room and look in all the bottles and jars.

It's beautifully lit

And it feels like its set up for a lesson  to start.

That and Dumbledore's office were my favourite sets.

Harry Potter- A Collection of Oddments

Here are a few curious but unrelated oddments from the Harry Potter Exhibition:

1. Housepoints

2. The display of drinking glasses and ice sculpture from the Triwizard Ball/ Yule Ball

3. The chocolate feast

4. A display of famous wands

5. The Mirror of Erised and the portrait of the Fat Lady (hard to get a photo of the mirror without getting a photo of yourself taking a photo of the mirror- not my heart's desire!)

6. Armour to fit all shapes and sizes

7. A Quidditch set

Dumbledore's Office

The set for Dumbledore's office is beautiful and very detailed. There are so many shiny things in cupboards.

It's beautifully lit...

You just want to go in and look in the cupboards.

If you look closely...

You'll see the sorting hat up on the shelf behind Dumbledore.

Harry Potter: Giant Chess Set

There are pieces from the Giant Chess set used in the Harry Potter film at various places around the exhibition and, as they are durable pieces, they are kept outside where you cab go right up to them.
