Gadget Show Shoes

As they say on Horrible Histories :

"HI. I'M A SHOUTY MAN AND I'M HERE TO TELL YOU ABOUT NEW, GADGET SHOW SHOES!"

It's important to have the right shoes when you are going to be on your feet all day walking round a big event...
So here they are...

I can't vouch for how comfortable they are... but if you're on the Frog and Flamingo stall next to Microsoft, they're darn right and dandy! It finishes today and I shall get back an exhausted but hopefully happy husband.

Spring has Sprung!

Or at least it had for a few minutes this morning. I was hurrying to an appointment and I even had to take my coat off the sun was so hot! Mind you its clouding over now...sorry everyone. I saw the sun and panicked...I put a load of washing in the machine to dry OUTSIDE! That's done it   = (

More from the Marmarati vaults...the Marmite Frogs. Their bows are made from copies of Marmite labels and their eyes and stitching chosen to match their labels. Now an established couple but they were not always so at ease with each other

 This was them on their first date, you can see she is a little shy when he confidently presents her with the Marmite token of true love.

And for their honeymoon they went to seek out the secret of the Marmite Shrine in the deepest and certainly darkest realms.

Dark Matter

Having heard various scientists explaining what they know and don't know about dark matter... I would like to go with the theory put forward by a texter on 5 Live this morning that it is, in fact, Marmite!

It IS dark, its compound is unearthly and it divides scientific opinion...what more evidence is needed?

The Happiest Sandwich Ever!

Last of the 'Felt With Faces' series, is this...the happiest sandwich ever. Rather like the creature in Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy at the restaurant at the end of the universe...it just wants to be eaten. Here are the ingredients: bread x 2, ham, lettuce and cheese....

Gadget Show...I need a pink Flamingo..Quick!!!

I know its all high tech and the like, but I still think 'Inspector Gadget' when anyone says Gadget Show. That's it. I've blown my cover now. This is not an in depth, tech-sprinkled account of the Show, but husband is there doing that with with ipads, other tablets and students...and I am here to tell you about the Flamingo!

Well, husband has taken lots of Art and IT students up and for a high-tech life-drawing session so naturally he thought the scene should be 2 frogs and 2 flamingoes in a Paris Cafe Style: red checked table cloth, vase of flowers etc..

So here is one of the Flamingoes in construction and hopefully his blog will show you them in situ when he has time to stop and make it.

The starting point was a cheap beach towel from Primark, the beak was from a pair of black socks and the legs were curtain tie-backs, both from Poundworld.

April Fool's Day

We're not generally good at April Fool's stuff in our house...too kind?...too lazy?...too unimaginative on the trick front? But daughter outdid herself last night and created this monstrosity to wait outside our bedroom door and greet us in the morning when we stumbled blearily out!

It was meant to have the sword arm raised too, in a threatening manner, but the sellotape on that one had given way during the night. Time for a close up on the gangsta-style face...
